Why AD 500

Built for the most demanding installations.

Rubber Modified

Recycled rubber, high‑cement content, and specialty polymers combine to create a balanced blend of coverage, bond strength and flexibility. This advanced formulation delivers long‑lasting bond strength for reliable, durable installations.

Polymer-Enhanced Performance

Enhanced with polymers, AD 500 offers superior bond strength, flexibility, and durability. Its high polymer content helps accommodate expansion and contraction caused by external factors and temperature variations, making it especially reliable in demanding conditions.

Extended Open Time & Large Format Support

Extended open time keeps the adhesive workable longer, giving installers more control. It allows precise tile placement and helps achieve a cleaner, more accurate finish.

Right Viscosity and Slip

The right viscosity ensures smooth spreading with controlled slip, keeping tiles stable during installation. Consistent wetting allows the adhesive to coat the tile evenly, maximising the bond between the substrate and the tile.

Fast Return to Service

AD 500's outstanding overnight strength provides excellent bond integrity within a short curing period, enabling quick project turnaround without sacrificing strength — ideal for high-traffic commercial and residential installations.

Low VOC Formulation

AD 500 is formulated with low VOCs, reducing harmful emissions and improving indoor air quality, making it an environmentally responsible choice for both residential and commercial projects.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

Under standard conditions (20°C, 50% RH), you can grout in 24 hrs. In cooler or more humid conditions, allow additional time. Always ensure tiles are firm and immovable before grouting.

Yes. AD 500 is built to withstand harsh weather conditions with resistance to UV radiation and thermal stress, making it suitable for patios, external areas, and pool areas that experience extreme temperature fluctuations. Not recommended for balconies and under water installations.

No. We recommend AD 700 for underfloor heating applications.

Enhanced with polymers and recycled rubber, AD 500 offers superior flexibility that allows the adhesive to accommodate expansion and contraction (classed as C2TES1) caused by moisture and temperature variations, making it especially reliable in demanding conditions.

AD 500 offers an extended open time of 30 minutes at 25°C and 50% RH, giving installers ample opportunity for precise placement and adjustment, especially on large or intricate layouts. Higher temperatures, lower humidity, and strong wind will shorten this window, so Triobond recommends laying tiles immediately after applying AD 500 with minimal delay.

AD 500 is suitable for most natural stones. For resinous or highly porous stones, perform a test application first. For translucent stones, use AD 700 (white) to avoid colour telegraphing.
